How the math works
- 1. Concentration = vial mass ÷ diluent volume. A 10 mg vial with 2 ml of diluent gives 5 mg/ml, or 5,000 mcg/ml.
- 2. Draw volume = target amount ÷ concentration. 250 mcg from 5,000 mcg/ml is 0.05 ml.
- 3. Units = draw volume × syringe scale. 0.05 ml on a U-100 barrel is 5 units.
Add diluent slowly down the vial wall, let the lyophilized powder dissolve without shaking, and store reconstituted material refrigerated and protected from light.
